Where do I even begin! There are so many people to thank for all their efforts for me to be able to have the time of my life at FSI 2014!
First, I would like to thank Ms. Lori Ball for giving me the opportunity to come and shadow in FSI 2013 but as well as the opportunity to explore my interests in the STEM field in FSI 2014. On top of that, she has been the best host of a once in a lifetime experience.
Next I would like to thank my RA's Chris (Topher) and Jessica for dealing with our obnoxious needs, being our daily reminder, and taking us on daily trips to Walmart. They have become our best friends and kept us going throughout our 6-weeks at UNC.
I would also like to thank our teachers Amy and Maurice for being the best Biology and Physics teachers on the planet. You guys have taught me so much and have the best experiments/labs everyday we walk in. Its always a thrill to be around you especially on field trip days when we blast music out and have our own jam sessions. Thanks for being the amazing older siblings I never had.
Thank you most to my mentor and Chemistry teacher Sean. You taught me so much high level chemistry that I think I am going to do pretty good in my first year of chemistry in the upcoming school year. I absolutely loved working on my fabulous summer project with you because even when I didn't do something right, it was always "okay." I definitely loved each lab in class as well as how you incorporated the basics of our project in class so we had more fun in research time. Even with all that I spend with you everyday, it was always fun and you never let me down.
I can't forget to thank my teachers and principal from Douglas County High School. Without my principal (Mr. Kappas) and all my teachers (especially Mrs. VanSwearingen), I wouldn't be here today!
Lastly, I would like to thank my family (and friends) back home for letting me out of their little bubble and explore the world on my own through FSI. Without them, I wouldn't be here or the person I am today. They give me so many opportunities and so much support that I many be in debt for a lifetime.
